Leverburgh in Harris to the Butt of Lewis is a walk of superlatives; the best view in the UK, the most fantastic beaches, the most amazing lazy beds systems, the finest collection of wild flowers, birds and creatures, the most spectacular cliff architecture....etc. 90 or so miles over 7 days reveals some of the wonderful Hebridean character - the look of the place, the traditional lifestyle, the friendliness of the people.

Day 1: Meet in Harris or Lewis entry point.
Day 2: Walk from Leverburgh to Seilbost in sight of the absolutely stunning Luskentyre Bay; ~20km.
Day 3: Walk from Seilbost over to the east side and to Tarbert, the main settlement in Harris; ~22km.
Day 4: Walk from Tarbert, through Gleann Lacasdail to Loch Seaforth forest; ~22km.
Day 5: Walk from Loch Seaforth forest to Lacasaidh area; ~18km.
Day 6: Lacasaidh across the moors to Lews Castle in Stornoway; ~24km
Day 7: Make your way through lots of small, eastern Lewis villages to the end of the road and 'The Bridge to Nowhere'; 26km.
Day 8: And finally from there walk up the remote eastern seaboard and across to the Butt of Lewis, the most northerly point of the inhabited Western Isles; ~22km.
Day 9: Return to ferry or air terminal for onward travel.
When to go:
This trip is on offer April, May to first half of June and from mid-August through to October. April and October will tend to be a bit windier, but really any time can be variable. Long settled spells contrast with periods of rapid change. It's best to be prepared for anything.
