West Coast Island Hopping

Grade: Flexible

This is a 1 week holiday exploring the best of Scotland’s west coast islands. The islands of Arran, Islay, Jura and Gigha are all visited during the week. Each has its own distinct character and is quite different from its neighbours. Arran is often described as Scotland in minature and offers excellent walking opportunities to suite all abilities. Islay is known as the Whisky Island due to the number of distilleries but is just as famous for its wildlife and historical attractions. Jura, the Deer Island, is remote and wild. Human habitation is limited and the deer roam free. Gigha translates as God’s Island and so peaceful and tranquil is it, that it could indeed be a little piece of heaven.

Our itinerary allows time for 2 full days walking on Arran and full days walking on both Islay and Jura. Depending upon your departure day you will have at least half a day on Gigha (maybe more). A number of walking options will be suggested, allowing you to choose the ones which most appeal to you. Non walking attractions include great scenery, wildlife spotting, sandy beaches, distillery visits, Brodick Castle and Achamore Gardens.

Please note single rooms are extremely limited on this holiday.
