Great Glen Way
Grade:
(Grade explanation)
The Great Glen Way is one of Scotland's National Long Distance Walking Routes and links Fort William, on Loch Linnhe, via Loch Ness to Inverness, on the Beauly Firth. Covering a distance of 77 miles (118 Km) or so the Great Glen Way follows along one of the great geological faults of Scotland. Whilst walking the Great Glen Way, discover the workings of Neptune's Staircase, the wonderful construction of Telford's Caledonian Canal as it travels through the Great Glen, Loch Ness and the summertime haunts of Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, and the ruinous ramparts of Urquhart Castle, as you enjoy an enchanting wee walk to remember.
Much less hilly than the West Highland Way, walking the Great Glen Way over 5 days allows for an easy pace, achievable by just about anybody.
