About the Cairngorms Winter Explorer
Walking in soft snow, jumping in drifts, following animal tracks; all possibilities from our Highland village base in the Cairngorms National Park. There's a wonderful selection of paths and tracks just great for exploring some of the low level pine woods, lochans, bothies and glens. This is a great invigorating and stress busting interlude in the long winter period.
Brief Itinerary for the Cairngorms Winter Explorer:
Day 1: Drive to north via Perth and Pitlochry to the Cairngorms National Park. In the afternoon there will be time for a short walk before we head for our accommodation nearby.
Days 2 - 4: Actual routes will be selected on the day taking into account the weather, group fitness and special requests. The following are just some of the many possibilities:
- Loch an Uaine & the Pass of Ryvoan
- Airgiod Meall
- Lochan Eilein, Loch Gamhna & Feshie Moor
- Creag Bheac & Loch Gynack
- Glentromie & Baileguish
- Glen Feshie & Ruigh Aiteachain
Day 5: Travel back to Stirling to arrive about 12.00.
