Ben Alder Raid
Grade:A pleasant undulating trek in and out of a fine wild area, with 2 days in between to capture Carn Dearg, Aonach Beag, Beinn Eibhinn, Beinn Bheoil and Ben Alder.
Backpacking and wild camping are required.
Ben Alder Raid Brief Itinerary:
Day 1: Equipment checking and distribution at C~N~Do office. After sorting out gear from the store, travel by mini-bus to Dalwhinnie. Walk down along Loch Ericht towards Loch Pattack and on past Culra Lodge to find a camping place somewhere. (~10ml / 16km with ~200m ascent).
Days 2 & 3: Weather factors may determine what is done on which day:- Ben Alder and Beinn Bheoil (8mls / 12km, ~1000m ascent) Carn Dearg, Geal Charn, Aonach Beag, Beinn Eibhinn (10mls / 16km, ~1200m ascent)
Day 4: Pack up and return to Dalwhinnie and then to Stirling arriving about 17:00. (~10ml / 16km, ~100m ascent).
