Hi Folks,
Our 28th season of guided walking has just got under way and contains no less interest than the first. Along with tantalising, classic favourites like ‘Road to the Isles’ and ‘Outer Hebrides’, ‘Fisherfield Raid’ and ’Sutherland Trail’, are a couple of new tempting appearances - ‘Skye Trail’ and ‘Cairngorms High Trek’, plus ‘Winter Trossachs Trail’ for later in the year and early 2012. With vacancies being hard to find on some trips and already non-existent on others, don’t wait too long to confirm that booking.
Independent Walking Holidays - C-N-Do Scotland's Slow Travel Options
A growing sector in our annual selection is a range of trips for those who prefer to find their own way around. We'll take all the hassle out of the planning, so that you can just enjoy. More importantly, these tours all utilise public transport to get around, saving you the hassle of driving to enjoy your walking and helping to do something to make holidaying in Scotland more sustainable. Most of the ‘Ways’ are on offer plus ‘Loch Lomond to Loch Ness’ and ‘West Highland Way Highlights’, ‘Highlands & Isle of Skye’ and ‘Island Hop, Walking & Whisky’, etc, etc. If what you want is not on the list, just let us know and we’ll create something to suit. No excuses, we're here to tempt you out!
Nordic Walking
Returning after the winter break, short ‘Taster' sessions and ‘4 day courses’ start mid April. A British Nordic Walking Instructor will put you through your paces, and free use of nordic walking poles is included. You could be well into your stride by May 22nd - World Nordic Walking Day. Did you know, Nordic Walking uses up to 90% of the body's muscles?
Behind the Scenes
Margaret and Dorothy will now be your main contacts now that Susan has departed, and will be at the end of the phone, poised over the keys, or here in person for you to chat over your ideas, or to help you choose the right solution to your outdoor ambitions. Why not pop in for a wee blether (old Scot's technical term for an educated discussion) or browse through, even try on, some of the Paramo clothing in our shop? Remember our activity customers can claim 10% off in-store.
Stirling Low Carbon Alliance
To continue our committment to reducing our own energy and Carbon usage, C-N-Do has recently joined our local Stirling Low Carbon Alliance Initiative and as we go to press has just gained a Bronze Award. We'll be working towards the Silver and Gold levels over the next few months.
Nikwax Green Retailer Award
Those of you who use and /or know of Nikwax and Paramo are aware of their high ethical and sustainable business standards. Our own standards and commitment we believe are very similar and this has been recognised by C-N-Do gaining a Nikwax Green Retailer Award for 2011. We're pretty chuffed as we are only 1 of 2 in Scotland and 1 of only 11 throughout the whole of the UK!
Our online store www.hillandhike.co.uk has full details and the full Paramo range. If you haven't tried Paramo yet, then it comes highly recommended. The exceptional breathability of the jackets is far superior to anything else on the market – say goodbye to condensation once and for all.
Paramo Partner
C-N-Do is also a specialist 'Paramo Partner' retailer and, so long as the garment you want is either our shop or in the UK warehouse, we should be able to get it to you within a couple of days. As a 'Paramo Partner' we also have access to some great deals drop in and have a look.
And finally...
Whenever you can get here, wherever we meet, you can be sure of a great C-N-Do Scottish welcome from all the guides and support managers, and from Margaret and Dorothy.
